V2X - Integrated Solution
The role of the connected car communication system is to pass information from a vehicle to any devices and units that play a role in the functionality of the vehicle, and vice versa. SnapSoft partnered with a leading innovator of this field to implement a custom-made software to work seamlessly in a complex environment.
The Connected Car industry is making a technology leap with self-driving cars and next generation infrastructure providers. All of the key players including innovators, hardware suppliers, infrastructure providers and car manufacturers have their own custom solutions. Standardized communication protocols are expected to roll-out globally.
SnapSoft’s software development team deployed an integrated solution to communicate with users, the connected hardware, and back-end infrastructure seamlessly. The scope included stages where the Connected Vehicle Roadside Unit provided wireless communications from roadside infrastructure to the vehicles’ On Board Units.
This project implemented high security standards, world class development environment, and compliance with the strict standards from the SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers), ITS (Intelligent Transport System), ETSI (European Telecommunications Standards Institute), ISO, CEN (European Committee for Standardization).
Challenges
emulated hardware
A key challenge was the bottleneck to emulate the programmed environment on the hardware. Another was the structural differences between the front-end and the back-end application due to only partially compatible standards of the various proprietary components.
Solution
To resolve the emulation issue we developed a hardware API specific optimized custom program that successfully cleared the unit tests allowing full throughput of all the implemented functionalities.
We also resolved the front-end and the back-end application incompatibilities with a high code quality that is handling and synchronizing full functionality across the platforms and devices and saves significant costs for Commsignia.
